Is your hearing aid broken, repair it...
Repair, do not replace
If you own anything with moving parts or any electronic devices then you know just as we do that things break down and cease working. The thing is that unlike lots of other goods that get thrown out when they need repairing, hearing aids can be repaired most of the time by properly trained individuals. Do not make the mistake of tossing out your hearing aid prior to consulting with a hearing aid repair shop.
A hearing aid is a relatively complex electronic item, though it is very small in size. Any number of things can go wrong with you aid causing it not to work as it should. Even small damages can cause the hearing aid to stop working so the best thing to do is take it to a repair shop and have them diagnose the issue and fix it if it is wise to do so. You may find that the problem is able to be solved for pennies instead of having to go out and buy another very expensive hearing aid.
If you try to get your hearing aid repaired and the quote is more than you think is fair then feel free to let the repairman know that you would like to get another quote elsewhere and you will be happy to bring it back if the next estimate is similar. Remember, think hearing aid repair, not hearing aid replacement when it goes down due to a damaged part or other issue.
