Always carry medical id cards with you...
There is no substitute for safety
There are so many different kinds of medicine on the market today that people are at an increased risk of taking a medicine that they will have an allergic reaction to. Some of us already have realized that certain drugs cause adverse reactions in our bodies. In trying to protect themselves from such a problem people are beginning to take control of their own healthcare. There are occasions, however, when this may not be possible. You can protect yourself in an emergency just by being prepared. For most of us with medical allergies that means wearing a medical alert bracelet or carrying medical id cards.
No one wants to accept the fact that everyone will be touched by some type of medical emergency in their lifetime and so many simply try to ignore that possibility. Other people are more proactive and do everything in their power to ensure the safety of the ones that they care about. Whether it is a child, parent or any other friend or relative, everyone that has any special medical need or allergy should carry an id bracelet and/or a medical alert card.
If there is ever an accident, the first thing the paramedics are trained to do is search our belongings for identification. Its so simple to carry a medical id card in your wallet along with your drivers license and insurance card. Even school-age children can carry a medical alert card in their backpack to aid doctors in their care should anything happen to them. Medical id cards can carry all sorts of useful information for police and emergency personnel such as name, contact information for family, allergies and any special medical conditions that may be present.
